Extract codes and words from recognized text

Use prefix, contains and pattern filters in word tools to find and copy codes. Try W+digits.

After recognizing an image or PDF, open word tools below the results. Use starts with for prefixes and contains for substrings. Ends with and pattern filters are also available. This page starts with the easy pattern W+digits.

The easy pattern W+digits, also written W+숫자, matches a whole word consisting of W followed by one or more digits. W123 matches, but WA123 does not. W* broadly matches words beginning with W. Matching ignores case by default; you can change that option.

Click a word to highlight its original location and select it in the result text. Word tools use the original recognized words, so editing text does not change the statistics or word list. Choose deduplication and newline or comma separators before copying.

How to use

  1. First extract text from an image or PDF.
  2. Choose starts with, contains or pattern and enter a query in word tools.
  3. Compare the codes with the source, then choose duplicates and separators and copy.

What to check

Patterns do not repair OCR mistakes. Check characters such as O and 0 or I and 1 against the source. When word coordinates are unavailable, highlights share a line or PDF item’s region.

Frequently asked questions

How do W+digits and W* differ?

In easy patterns, W+digits matches W followed only by one or more digits. W* allows any characters after W. The plus sign joins components; the asterisk means zero or more of any character.

Can I analyze text I paste directly?

There is no separate text input. The tool analyzes recognized image and PDF words. Editing result text does not replace the original recognized word list.

Can I use regular expressions?

Enable advanced mode under pattern and enter a regular expression without slash delimiters. It matches substrings by default; use ^ and $ for whole words. Invalid syntax produces an error.
